How long have you been with miLEAD? 

I have been with miLEAD for 1 year.

What is the focus of your research?

The focus of my research is to determine underlying neural components in individuals with fibromyalgia.

What are your current career goals?

My current career goals are to continue my primary research project, make connections with people across disciplines (including outside of academia), and develop a plan for my final years of research and beyond into my career.

What roles have you played on projects? 

I have served as a consultant on 2 projects and 1 case competition. In all cases, I performed secondary research on a broad range of topics, culminating in market analyses and competitive landscape analyses.

What led you to seek out milead?

Being at the University of Michigan offers a powerful platform for opening doors to future career opportunities. In my search to leverage this platform and identify career options outside of academia, miLEAD stood out as a key way to gain exposure to a range of industry careers. The experiences of peers who were in miLEAD reinforced my interest and drove me to apply in the second year of my PhD program.

Since joining miLEAD, what skills have you been able to develop?

miLEAD has greatly developed my skills in collaboration, presentation, and business-related research. miLEAD’s emphasis on clear deliverables has streamlined my approach to group work, helping greatly to develop an efficient work style and engage in active communication. with team members.

What has been one of your most rewarding experiences thus far working with miLEAD? 

Some of the most rewarding experiences in miLEAD have involved satisfied clients at the end of the project. It’s a great feeling when the client is impressed with the team’s work and seems genuinely interested in our findings. Their excitement is contagious and very rewarding.
