How long have you been with miLEAD? 

Ten Months

What is the focus of your research?

My research examines aging in the context of skeletal muscles with the aim to mitigate or prevent age related muscle loss known as Sarcopenia. We study Sarcopenia with a specific interest in the neuromuscular junction.

What are your career goals? 

I'm currently in a career exploration phase through miLEAD and the Scientist Mentoring & Diversity Program for Biotechnology. I am interested in medical affairs and life science consulting.

What roles have you played on projects? 

As a consultant, I have had the opportunity to perform a market analysis, contribute to a white paper, and conduct primary research with clinicians to produce high-quality client facing deliverables.

What led you to seek out milead?

I am interested in exploring and pursuing career opportunities outside of academia. miLEAD has been a great source for professional development and non-academic career exposure.

Since joining miLEAD, what skills have you been able to develop?

Skill translation. I have been able to develop the ability to translate my academic training into non-academic work from both deliverables and presentations.

What has been one of your most rewarding experiences thus far working with miLEAD? 

Being able to perform work and provide key insights that has an impact on a small companies’ decisions.
