miLEAD appoints new consultants by holding recruitment cycles, which generally occur during the Fall and Spring. We encourage all graduate students (including MBA programs) and postdoctoral researchers affiliated with the University of Michigan to apply, regardless of field or prior experience. Consultants will receive on-the-job training with real clients and develop important skills through professional development and networking events hosted by miLEAD. Consultants will be working with a peer team to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills that deliver real business solutions. No prior consulting experience is required.
New projects begin regularly. Our consultants volunteer their services on projects based on their availability and interests. Projects typically last from 6 to 8 weeks and require a time commitment of 10 to 15 hours per week. Opportunities for project management may arise as consultants gain experience and develop their skills.
